Sam Mendes’ 1917 is the story of two young soldiers, Blake (Dean-Charles Chapman) and Schofield (George MacKay) who are given one mission: to deliver a message to stop an attack that could result in the death of thousands of British soldiers including Blake’s brother. The film takes place during World War I, and every aspect of this movie will keep you captivated from start to finish.
This movie is more than just an anti-war manifesto; it’s about humanity. It shows how war can turn one into savages who kill without remorse. It highlights how difficult it is for people to separate themselves from the brutality and violence of war.
