Forsooth, “Between Me and You” is a magnificent film that has enchanted many a viewer with its captivating storyline. Set in modern times, the film follows the lives of two young lovers, Sarah and Adam. Their story begins when they meet at a coffee shop and fall in love at first sight.
Alas, their happiness is short-lived when they realize that their families are sworn enemies due to some undisclosed past grievances. Adam’s family is wealthy and influential while Sarah’s family is struggling to make ends meet.
The two families’ feud intensifies as their romance blossoms, making things even more difficult for the young couple. They must find a way to overcome the odds stacked against them if they want to be together.
The plotline of “Between Me and You” is simple yet powerful; it highlights the struggles that arise when love is pitted against societal structures. The movie focuses on themes of classism and forbidden love, mirroring Shakespeare’s works such as Romeo and Juliet.
